Position Overview:

Reports to: Executive Director
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday; 40 hours/week with varying hours, including some evenings and weekends.
Compensation: $65,000-$75,000 per year, depending on experience
Status: Full-time salaried exempt

Position Summary:
The Senior Director of Community Health Programs plays an integral role in Groundwork Denver's Executive Leadership Team, providing strategic direction of Community Health Partnerships (CHPs) with local residents and neighborhoods. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Senior Director of CHPs oversees Groundwork Denver’s Community Health Programs, which include the Energy, Water, and Community Health (Civic Engagement & Tree Care) programs. This role is responsible for developing and managing CHP initiatives, focusing on program deliverables such as grants and partnerships, and incorporating these initiatives into social enterprise offerings. The Senior Director of CHPs also serves as a key link between Groundwork Denver's Youth Programs and Community Health Programs, supporting CHP Directors and ensuring integration of the Groundwork Corps (a team of 4-5 young adults aged 21-25) into CHP trainings and service projects. Additionally, the Senior Director of CHPs will occasionally work in the field to deliver services, requiring expertise in energy audits, minor installations, and tree planting. The position involves supervising the Water Program Director, Energy Program Team, and Community Health Program Director, and collaborating with all three programs to ensure successful integration of the Groundwork Corps into CHP services.
Program Responsibilities:
· Oversee the implementation of the Community Health Program, including hiring, partnership development, day-to-day operations, grant reporting and programing evaluation.
· Successfully oversee and administer Community Health Program budget and grant funds, including adhering to contract billing and financial reporting requirements, ensuring expenses are allocated properly, and CHP staff time is recorded and billed accurately.
· Develop new grant proposals and write grant reports in coordination with the Executive Director and grant writer.

· Manage the recruitment process and hiring of CHP Staff (Directors, Energy Team, and Groundwork Corps).
· Work alongside the Program Directors and Managers (Energy Auditors) to build the structure for the Groundwork Corps Work (including qualifications, duration, trainings within each program, and overall standards)

· Equip CHP Directors and Managers (Energy Auditors) to support Groundwork Corps with trainings, policies, and other tools needed to ensure Groundwork Corps’ safety and adherence to organizational risk management policies.
· Continuously improve the CHPs by overseeing the Groundwork Corps program evaluation, including survey development, data collection, and completing the evaluation reporting.

· Provide supervision and evaluation for the Water Program Director, the Community Health Program Director, the Energy Auditors, and the Groundwork Corps.
· Collaborate with Executive Leadership Team to advance GWD’s strategic vision.
· Build and maintain external partnerships while supporting the CHP teams to do the same, in order to develop meaningful work for Groundwork Corps, while continually enhancing service provisions for community member clients.
· Represent Groundwork Denver at external meetings, collaborations and community events related to Community Health Program initiatives.

Qualifications, education and experience:
· Understanding of race and class equity and a commitment to continuous personal learning and growth regarding race and class equity and how it impacts the organization, staff, youth, families and neighborhoods
· Experience working within Energy Efficiency and Community Health programs that serve communities within or like Denver and its Metro area where Groundwork Denver serves - similar life experiences or backgrounds will be prioritized.
· Passion for Groundwork Denver’s mission, young adult development, and community health.
· At least 7 years of work history in non-profit or community-related industry, with 3 years of direct leadership experience.
· Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, or similar field - or 4 years equivalent related work experience required. Master's degree is highly desired.
· Highly organized to be able to track programs and personnel working on many projects at once, grant deliverables, budget detail, deadlines, and evaluation data
· Ability to work independently without close oversight, but also a team player who will productively engage with others at varying levels of seniority within and outside of the organization.
· Supervisory experience and ability to mentor staff in ways to meet program goals through their programs/projects.
· Demonstrated ability to engage diverse communities from low-income, urban communities, to middle and high-income communities.
· Fluency in languages in addition to English is highly desired.
· Demonstrated successful project management experience.
Other Requirements:
· The job requires both office and field work. Office work includes utilizing computer systems, managing phones, and sitting in meetings. Groundwork Denver’s main office is on the ground floor with no steps inside or outside of the building. The front door is wide enough for wheelchairs and other mobility supports, but does not have an automatic door opener
· Field work includes walking and biking in natural areas and parks; walking and biking in urban neighborhoods; field labor including bending, stooping, use of construction tools, shoveling, weeding, cutting trees and plants; carrying heavy equipment; camping; and other physically challenging tasks
· Ability to travel to and from meetings and appointments
· Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
